Q: What browser should I use to take the courses?

A: These courses have been optimized to be used on Internet Explorer. On other browsers, the courses may not have full functionality. If you are having issues with a course, please make sure that you are using Internet Explorer.

Q: Why should I use my CAC to access the courses?

A: Using your CAC will allow you to leave the course, and then return to the section where you left off. If you do not use a CAC to access a course and you leave that course without finishing it, you will have to start the course again from the beginning.

Q: Why do I see a Certificate Error message when I use my CAC to access the course?

A: A user who tries to connect to a secured website by using a web browser may receive the following warning message:

  • There is a problem with this website's security certificate. The security certificate presented by this website was not issued by a trusted certificate authority.
  • Security certificate problems may indicate an attempt to fool you or intercept data you send to the server.We recommend that you close this web page and do not continue to this website.

The FVAP Training Portal website has a server certificate that is issued by Verisign which is a trusted Certificate Authority (CA). Your web browser currently does not trust the FVAP Training Portal server certificate because the Verisign Root Certificate is not installed. Please contact your agency's IT department to install the Verisign Root Certificate as a trusted root CA.

Q: The FVAP Training Portal does not recognize my CAC. What should I do?

A: You can visit the Army Knowledge Online (AKO) website to obtain information on how to use your CAC or contact your agency's IT department.
